‘Fit for You’ Quisine at the Omlette Shoppe Bakery
My sweet Eve,
We don’t usually rise early on vacation, but July 7 was to be our last day in Traverse City and we rolled out of bed at 6:30 AM because we wanted to kayak at 9:00 and Kochana wanted to swim before checking out of our hotel at 11:00 AM to be on our way to Inverness and the National School of Music. An early breakfast at the Omlette Shoppe Bakery and a quick downtown walk began our day. We were impressed with the fitness theme of the restaurant with a unique menu and fare (remember the delicious cherry bread toast with the light glaze). The Omlette Shoppe was affiliated with a local fitness club. The fitness menu listed 5 healthy meals ranging in price from $5.99 to $7.99. The back side of the menu listed 6 healthy eating strategies with a note at the bottom: ‘Remember: stop eating when you are full. Listen to the clues that your body gives you. Don’t deprive yourself of foods you love. All foods can fit into a balanced diet’. It is impressive to find a restaurant which finds menu strategies to assist their customers with tasty, healthy food. This is one of the better memories of our vacation and I’m thankful we shared it together. We must learn to apply those successful concepts from the physical world that illustrate the mysteries of the eternal issues of life. God teaches us in this manner. All that we observe in our earthly days are founded upon and conceived in the eternal mind of God, and as such, are the physical manifestation of the invisible, unseen and eternal foundation of the universe. Our bodies are the mechanism in which we move about in the physical. We enact the mental and spiritual intent of our eternal spiritual person in a mechanism of flesh and blood. What we see in the flesh is our personage of the spiritual, for each of us is the exact manifestation of our spirit which moves about in thought and deed. When we understand that our body, mind and soul is one person we can deduce that the Godhead is one in the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. We are but a model of the eternal existence behind the veil of flesh between us and a Holy God. Through the revelations of the Holy Spirit in combination with the teachings of Christians, the written Word of God and the perpetually flowing living Word of God we see and understand those truths and maxims which will make us like our creator in the person of Jesus Christ. The spiritual food (instruction) of God is fitness food which heals, nurtures and enlightens our body, mind and soul. This food we can and must eat daily, as the Israelites ate mana in the desert for 40 years. As we eat the Word of God (our daily bread) we are quickened and strengthened for the work we are given to complete our assignment and purpose in the eternal plan of the Most High God.
Our love is made better in good food memories, Kochany
