Illusions of Grandeur
My deep thinking Eve,
An illusion of grandeur is a false belief that one possesses superior qualities such as genius, fame, power, influence or wealth. When children practice piano and imagine themselves as a great musician playing to large crowds of adoring fans to great accolades of applause and popularity, they are experiencing illusions of grandeur. The sin of Eve was rooted in an illusion of Grandeur. Created in the image of God, she was allured by the desire to be more like God, her creator. This was a good quality with which the serpent would bait the hook of her spiritual appetite to lure her into a perverted and forbidden act of disobedience. It was a false belief that she could be like God in every way, based on the false premise that God (who can do no evil) knew (thought) evil thoughts and acted on them, as the lying serpent (satan is the father of lies) suggested. A delusion is a false belief about ones importance, stature and perceived greatness in present and future events. The demented mind of the serpent was the result of delusions of Grandeur, which implies a level of mental madness. Mental madness is the final apostate stage of the pride, arrogance and self-deceiving cancer of rebellion and disobedience to the Life Giving Word of God and the accompanying presence of The Most High God. When Jesus Christ came professing, “The Kingdom of God is at hand,” he was offering rescue and a Way that would deliver the captives and set them free to love, commune with and worship his Holy Heavenly Father (all unsaved people are slaves of sin who cannot escape the chains of bondage to Lucifer the Most Evil who leads the rebellion against Creator God Most High). Satan (the great liar) was experienced in lies, flattery and deception. He deceived and enslaved 1/3 of the angels of God, leading them to eternal, unforgivable judgment and punishment in the perpetual lake of fire. Just as he took the rebellious angels captive, he immediately bound up Adam and Eve and they were instantly condemned to the same eternal death sentence according to the immutable, eternal, unwavering Law of the Most High God. But the perfect wisdom of God saw the unfair advantage Satan had over the woman and He knew that the woman spoke truthfully, “The serpent beguiled me and I did eat,”. But Adam and Eve were condemned when her husband, in the character of lucifer, blamed God for his transgression by hiding behind his wife and saying, “The woman, whom you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.” (in other words, ‘I wouldn’t have done it if she hadn’t given it to me. I ate because you gave her to me as a help mate. Can I be blamed because she gave me of the tree of knowledge of good and evil? It was her fault. You can’t blame me.’) Then their eyes were opened (after eating of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were now captives of satan, stripped of all their God-given authority (it was usurped by lucifer their captor), no longer capable of walking in oneness with God their Father). Judgment was swift and final. Adam and Eve had decided to stand with the serpent against God as each attempted with their best argument to cover their sin. Confession would have been good for their soul, but standing firm together against God with no remorse, repentance or regret, sealed their doom. Both of them reacted in the fallen character and defensive, critical spirit of the devil. God evicted them from the Garden of Eden, prepared for the holy and righteous, and again drove lucifer from his presence. (This second time satan was now veiled in the flesh of man (Adam and Eve) who he entered when Eve mistook a decision (to stand by God or to stand by satan) for a choice (to eat of life giving fruit of the tree of life or to eat of the absence of life tree of knowledge of good and evil). Always beware a decision veiled as a choice! It is most likely deception or a trap! God was merciful to the woman and her husband. In mercy, He provided a way of escape through the Son of God who was to be born of woman to crush the head of the serpent and redeem man from the chains of sin. This would restore the right relationship of man the creation with God the creator. God saw the evil intent of the Delusions of Grandeur of satan and the Illusions of Grandeur of Eve, the beguiled, trusting woman. In love, like no other, God devised a plan to forgive and restore the woman and her husband to the ultimate perfect design of the Most High God while retaining the eternal judgment of separation from God for Lucifer, the devil, all the fallen angels and all wicked men/women who decided to live sinful lives and willfully decided not to eat of the tree of Life.
May our God Most High be glorified in his redeeming plan for man,Kochany
